whatever they can to get a couple bucks out of you and will say it's a "utilities" or "maintenance" charge. Maintenance? Don't even think about having a problem because they will not respond to you or call you back. When they finally do something, it's a temporary fix so you're forced to contact them again. With as run down as these apartments are, you get mold and no matter how clean you try to keep your place, it will still come back. Do not even attempt to contact them or they will charge you. Seriously, just find nicer apartments to live at. This place is a JOKE.
see moremy room because I didn’t have to run down a hall to put on clothes or worry about roommates having boys over and accidentally flashing them or something lol - it comes with a few furniture pieces, including a queen-sized bed!!!! - balcony, I’m someone who loves to chill outside alone in the summer so this was invaluable. - there’s many pools that are always locked, and a solarium which is also hot in the summer (with a heated pool!!) and no one was ever in the pools or anything so it was basically amazing. - The social aspect is super chill, it’s sort of an older college crowd so there’s never partying that you can hear at all hours of the night. - parking was pretty good, lots of spots available. I only ever couldn’t find parking late at night like 2 times. - Rent is so nice and affordable Cons: - When I moved in, there was a fly problem. Like a major fly problem, just from leaving a window open for a bit. I counted 45 flies in my room ALONE. Had to buy fly traps, and it was a horrible 2 weeks until we rid them. - we also had a RAT problem, which my roommate had told me it wasn’t the first time (also happened year prior). Management did absolutely nothing about it, and we could not ever find where they came from. It was scary and I had to sleep at my parent’s for a bit because we never caught any in the rat traps we set. - There’s a bunch of shoes on the telephone wires in the complex. IYKYK.
see morea full year of mold exposure and water damage. The last month of the lease I ended up sleeping on my friend’s couch because of how bad the mold got. I actively tell friends and family to avoid any property managed by Aspen Ridge.
see moreThird, the LDS Ward had great leadership and fun people. Fourth, my landlords - Cindy and Randy Morris - was phenomenal. Cindy was easy to communicate with and would always email or text back the same day. Whenever something broke, Randy came down the next day to fix it. They were great landlords and I had no complaints. That’s the differentiating factor here at Old Mill - every condo is owned by different landlords. If you get one that’s taken care of the apartment and is responsive; you’ve struck gold in Provo’s best kept apartment secret. Fifth, the price was unbeatable. $315 a month for a private room AND private bathroom. I couldn’t find that anywhere else in Utah County, especially student housing. The Solarium (indoor pool and indoor sand volleyball court, basically a greenhouse feel) did get loud sometimes but it was a nice amenity and a great place to have relaxing late-night swims. Parking was probably the biggest complaint for me. The lines hadn’t been repainted for years and the spaces were all incredibly tight, it was quite difficult to park some nights. However, I stick to my high review. I will speak for years to come about my treasured times at Old Mill. It’s also a fun fact that Steve Young lived at Old Mill for a time when he was at BYU!
see morereally like living here.
see morebeen very good.
see moreoverhead lights in the rooms, the furniture is falling apart and the parking is laughable. That being said, the rooms are really spacious and the private bathrooms are a great touch. The shared shower is inconvenient, though, because it’s impossible to shower without waking up your roommate. There were a lot of bugs in the summer but we haven’t had any issues with mice which is lovely. It has definitely got its ups and downs.
see moreup. They don’t even give you a window of time. It also sometimes takes several maintenance requests before things are actually fixed.
see morewill replace or update anything. There is also no overhead lighting which makes the rooms pretty dark and kind of depressing. But it’s a great size for what you pay, so that’s nice.
